The St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church community continues to celebrate and foster the tradition of faith and service demonstrated by all the people who have gone before and who have made our church family a strong witness to Christian fellowship and outreach.
Within the Outreach Ministry there is a strong emphasis on the principles of Catholic social teaching. The principle of “Solidarity” is a primary focus for the Outreach Ministry which will continue to blossom throughout the St. Anthony of Padua parish community.
We are one human family and we are our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers, wherever they may be.
Opportunities to Engage with St. Anthony’s Outreach Ministries
Health Ministry – An active ministry in our parish for 20 years, the Health Ministry’s goal is to create an environment which supports holistic health principles involving physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health. Some activities include nutrition education & cooking demonstrations, a fruit & vegetable market, health fairs and an annual blood drive. The ministry meets every 2nd Sunday at 10 am in the Jubilee Center. Contact Melba Hill-Paschal at 404-349-7110 for more information and to engage with this ministry.
Habitat for Humanity Ministry – This ministry supports Habitat for Humanity Atlanta’s efforts to help low-income families own a home. St. Anthony ministers help with fundraising and building and renovating homes with the families as a team. We also need ministers to help coordinate, prepare, and serve lunch for Habitat for Humanity participants. Our upcoming October 2015 interfaith build provides a great opportunity for fellowship with other churches and temples in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Contact Candis M. Hunter at firstname.lastname@example.org to get involved and engage with this fun outreach ministry.
“Team St. Anthony” – Team St. Anthony is a celebration of our individual parishioner’s Mind, Body, and Spirit and total parish family’s baptismal call to actively participate (walk/run) in community engagement non-profit fundraising 5k and 10k walks/runs within the Atlanta metro area throughout the year. These events consist of the “Hunger Walk/Run” (Atlanta Community Food Bank and Society of St. Vincent de Paul, annually in March) and “MLK Day 5k Drum Run” (annually in January).
